Welcome to Cammeray Counselling!

Affordable, evidence‑based counselling for adults and families navigating ADHD and Neurodiversity—no matter where you live in Australia.

Why choose Counselling?

We all experience times of difficulty in our lives, when events or relationships feel overwhelming, or we can feel a loss of direction or purpose. Making the decision to see a counsellor may feel like a big step to take – but it can be one of the best decisions you make!

Please read on to find out more about how I could help you.

Welcome!

I’m Jane Stephens, a Registered Telehealth (phone and online) counsellor based in Sydney, Australia. I'm dedicated to supporting adults and families living with ADHD and other neurodivergent conditions. All sessions are delivered exclusively via secure tele‑health,

which allows me to keep fees affordable and reach clients throughout Australia.

My practice focuses on empowering neurodivergent adults to thrive in work, study, relationships, and daily life, while providing guidance and resources for families adjusting to a new diagnosis, and all that it brings.

Using lived experience, psycho-education and new cutting-edge brain research I can help families navigate the confusing world of neurodiversity. I can help you help your young person become the best version of themselves in this complex, ever changing society.

In this current cost of living crisis, I aim to bridge a much needed gap for those who aren't able to access psychological services through Medicare. By offering online services I can keep costs down and therefore offer far lower rates to my clients than those of traditional, face to face counselling in rooms.

With flexible video sessions there is no travel, there are no extra costs— just a secure, private video call that fits around your work, school runs, or caring responsibilities.

About Me

I’m a fellow neurodivergent adult who finally received an ADHD diagnosis in my early 40s—right when my teenage kids were being diagnosed. Only recently did I discover that I’m also on the autism spectrum (AuDHD). Living those “late‑diagnosis” moments gave me a front‑row seat to the confusion, relief, and everyday challenges that many adults and families face.

Because I know how hard it can be to find affordable, flexible help, I’ve built a telehealth‑only practice that reaches people wherever they live in Australia —especially for those in regional and remote areas, where access to services in general is more difficult.

My goal isn’t to act as an expert; instead, I draw on my own journey, training, and experience to offer practical, compassionate guidance that feels relatable and grounded in real life.

Who I Work With

  • Adults who have been diagnosed with ADHD (or suspect they might be) later in life – I understand the “why now?” feeling and can help you navigate work, relationships, and daily routines.

  • People who have discovered they’re on the autism spectrum alongside ADHD (such as AuDHD) – I share strategies that work for my brain and can adapt them to yours.

  • Families adjusting to a recent diagnosis – While I don’t work directly with children, I support parents and partners in understanding the new dynamics, communicating effectively, and building a supportive home environment.

Adult ADHD Assessment

I am trained in the Focalength Method™ of the Holistic Assessment and Management of ADHD, developed by Psychiatrist Dr. Tony Mastroianni.

This is a different way of looking at the whole person, and assessing them through the lens of their 10 Life Domains.

Real World Coping Tools

I'll share with you practical tips I’ve tested myself— how to create time‑blocking, sensory‑friendly spaces in the home and at work, and simple, good, habit-building hacks that fit busy lives.

I’ve walked the same path, so I listen without judgment and celebrate the small wins that matter most.

You'll also get strategies for talking about the practicalities of neurodiversity and their biological basis, which helps in setting realistic expectations and fostering understanding at home.

What does that look like to you?

Is it learning how to exist in this society where we don't have to mask, to stop hiding our uniqueness?

Is it learning to integrate our new knowledge about ourselves into who we are as a person?

My Approach

Listen First – I start each session by hearing your story, not by jumping straight to techniques.

Share What Worked for Me – From “how I stopped losing my keys” to “the routine that steadied my mornings,” I offer ideas that have helped me manage my neurodiversity.

Co‑Create a Plan – Together we pick a few realistic actions you feel comfortable trying—nothing overwhelming.

Check‑In Regularly – We review what’s working, tweak what isn’t, and celebrate progress, however small.
